Why is my boyfriend such a pillock when he is drunk??

Because drunks are idiots, drinking kills brain cells and relationships. Why are you in a relationship with someone who periodically gets drunk and verbally abusive? Are you aware these things move to other levels over a period of years? Good luck ... seriously I would kick him to the curb.
