What's a good retractable fishing pole?

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and he's been interested in getting a "retractable" fishing pole. Something that can fit in his backpack and fish on the go. He's really big into fishing, but I don't know too much about it. I want to get him a good one but I'm not too sure what I'm looking for.
