Why have they changed Google Earth?

Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer get the low angle perspective shots you used to be able to get with Google Earth? You used to be able to change your perspective with a slider control on their control panel. Changing the perspective brought out the really cool three-dimensional terrain characteristics. But now you can't do that anymore. Why?
