Help with english A level poetry?

Hm... is it really that you need help with the mechanics of poetry (metaphor, simile, mood, tone and so forth) -or with love (affection, friendship, eros and charity (as Lewis would have it))? To write about how an author writes about love, you need to understand what kind of "love" the author is talking about or you may wind up talking apples and oranges.
